Appeal judges elect Justice Daniel Musinga as their president.

He succeeds Justice William Ouko who was last Friday sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Ouko was sworn in alongside Martha Koome, who took the oath of office as Chief Justice.

They were sworn in at State House in presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta,  a ceremony chaperoned by key officers from the Judiciary.

In January, Musinga was appointed the chairman of the Judiciary Committee on Elections (JCE).

He took over from High Court judge Msagha Mbogholi.

On Monday, New CJ Koome assumed office at the Supreme Court.
