Legendary Swahili telenovela pete actor Gillie Owino well known as Mzee Msiri is dead.
The actor, famed for his role on Pete died on Friday, April 30, 2021.
Reports indicate that Mzee Msiri from Pete reality show on maisha magic east succumbed to cancer.
Owino who used to play Mzee Msiri on the maisha magic east telenovela is known for his humorous character.
According to Mzee Msiri's family members and some of Pete crew, the actor was on healthy and steady and even drove himself for several shoots this week.
Reports from Mombasa, where the actor lives with family, Mzee Msiri was on his medication but his situation deteriorated on Thursday, April 29, and he was rushed to the hospital.
Doctors strived all they could to save the respected actor's life in vain and he was pronounced dead on Friday, April 30, at around 4.00 pm.
Owino was a gifted theatre TV and film director, actor and writer who has orchestrated many plays in Mombasa’s Little Theatre Club and Kenya National Theatre in Nairobi.
