ODM leader Raila Odinga meets Siaya Senator James Orengo on Monday after some contradictions in his party boss over constituencies proposed by BBI.

The ODM leader clashed with the top-ranking members of his party openly contradicting him and others challenging him to a political engagement.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya joined Orengo and some of Raila Odinga foot soldiers, warning the sharing of 70 new constituencies “will divide the country”.

But on Monday, Raila held talks with Oparanya, Orengo and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

Raila acknowledged the three leaders for withdrawing their tough stand.

On his Twitter handle, Orengo said he held a delightful meeting with his party leaders.

"Very refreshing to catch up with my Party Leader Hon. @RailaOdinga, Governor @GovWOparanya & Mama @mamangilu," he said.

Ngilu vigorously advocated for unity of purpose and should predominate in ODM especially amongst leaders who have shown great purpose in moving this country forward.

"The work of dealing with the current pandemic, youth unemployment and the stressed economic times need all of us to come together regardless of party affiliations," she said.

"Kenyans are looking up to us to get them out of these challenges. This is not the time to disagree about issues that should be bringing us together," she added.
