Wilson Sossion resigns as KNUT Secretary-General; says he’ll now focus on his legislative duties as MP.

The move comes ahead of KNUT elections set for tomorrow in Nairobi, says the education sector improved the most during his tenure.

The controversial KNUT boss cites failure by the government to support his leadership.

Sossion says he will now concentrate on his new political career. Mr Sossion announced at a press conference on Friday, saying he was frustrated by the government's failure to support his leadership.

Packed into a hole in the countdown to the national elections scheduled for Saturday, Mr Sossion had begun several war fronts with his rivals and government institutions.

He began the fight with Knut’s acting national chairman, Mr Collins Oyuu, who was to face off with him for the secretary-general’s position in what had narrowed down to a two-horse race.
