Webuye West constituency family was left in difficulty after their son obtained an admission letter from a Nyeri girls' secondary school in ongoing Form One selections.

Spencer Wangila, who wanted to join Kimilili boys, was surprised to discover that he was allotted to join Narumoru Girls School in Nyeri County.

Further, Wangila, who sat for his KCPE at Misikhu FYM primary school and scored 370 marks, now is in more trouble after his result slip revealed that he was a girl.

”When my parents went to pick the result slip, we were surprised to learn that it had indicated that I was a girl,” said Wangila.

The father Benard Mukenya said the error has resulted in him sleepless nights and trauma.

He raised the issue with the sub-county education officers who pledged to amend the gender before form selections but was shocked to see his son being selected in a girls’ school.

”When we got the results, we knew that it had indicated that my son was a girl something which forced me to raise the matter with the education office where I was assured that they will correct it with KNEC but I’m shocked that they didn’t do so,” Mukenya argued.

Wangila requests the education stakeholders to move with speed and assist him before the schools open on August 2.

”I want to request to Education CS George Magoha to come to my assistance so that I can comprehend my dream of becoming a teacher in future,” the boy requested.
