Hafsa Ahmed Abdi and her boyfriend will be arraigned in court over the kidnapping of their friend in Kayole, Nairobi two weeks ago.

Hafsa Ahmed Abdi and her boyfriend Jackson Njogu will be presented in court where police seek more days to detain them for kidnapping their friend Hafsa Mohamed Lukman, 23.

She was abducted on June 15 and salvaged five days later. Police said the two, Hafsa and Njogu were tracked to a lodging at the Flyover Junction in Kinangop where they were hiding since Lukman was rescued from a house in Matopeni, Kayole.


The two, according to police were suspects in the kidnap of Lukman who was tormented as her kidnappers requested Sh5 million ransom before she was extricated on June 20.

The move now increases to three, the number of suspects arrested over the kidnap that surprised many given the torture meted on Lukman.

Police officers have disclosed abductors of Lukman lured her with a business deal to supply watermelons, and then demanded a Sh5 million ransom. 

Hafsa runs a watermelons business in Kayole.

She has been buying the fruits from Bura and Garissa. Detectives rescued Lukman from a house where she had been kept captive inside a broken water tank.
