A GSU officer assigned to GSU headquarters in Ruaraka disappeared without trail on Friday.

Corporal Joseph Otieno is said to have gone missing, efforts to pursue him proved futile as his phone switched off.

His wife Caroline Adhiambo filed a missing person report on Sunday at Kasarani Police Station adding that they were to go home on Saturday morning but his phone was off.

“I left the house around 7:30 am and left him in the house. He did not tell me anything because we all knew we will be heading home in the following morning,” Adhiambo said.

He is said to have left the GSU headquarters on Friday around 11:00 am and became unreachable by phone 10 minutes later.

The 36-year-old officer was last pursued around Naivas Supermarket in Ruaraka by his phone signals before it was switched off.

Otieno’s hired car was found deserted close to a quarry in Mwiki area, Kasarani Sub County on Sunday.

It was taken to Mwiki Police Station where investigating officers traced it and found it there.

He had hired the car for five days since Thursday for his personal use.

Police urge members of the public with any information to report to the nearest police station to assist with investigations.
