Jubilee candidate Githinji Joseph Mung’ara wins the hotly contested Muguga ward by-election which was held on Thursday 15th 2021.
The Jubilee party aspirant Githinji Mung’ara cast his vote in the morning at Kahuho Uhuru High School accompanied by some of his supporters.
The Muguga ward by-election took place on the same day with the Kiambaa-by elections battling Kariri Njama of Jubilee and Njuguna Wanjiku of United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
However, UDA officials rejected the votes called on IEBC for a recount.
" At Muguga Ward, we know UDA got 4101 votes while Jubilee garnered 4091 votes. ALL Forms in the 29 polling stations are SECURED. Will share all shortly, " an UDA official said.
Voter turnout was rated at 28%.
