The parliamentary committee on finance and national planning sent a recommendation to President Uhuru Kenyatta over excise duty.  


The recommendation touched on telephone and internet data services increased from 15 per cent to 20 per cent.



Following the signing into law of the 2021 Finance bill by President Uhuru Kenyatta, the increment affected other services.



Kenyans will have to part with more than Ksh300 to purchase cooking gas after a 16 per cent increase in Value Added Tax.


Those seeking loans were also not saved as the government increased the excise duty on bank loan fees to 20 Percent.


Lenders have already calculated and transfer the cost to borrowers making access to credit from their homes.
