Police car in Kitale

Popular musician Sheila Wairimu arrested on Friday, July 2, for stealing a dead businessman’s vehicle, Toyota Prado v8.

Sheila Wairimu was arrested after the tycoon’s family undertook an objection with the police asserting that the suspect had rewritten ownership within four days after PJ Dodhia Kumar died.

Wairimu is implicated in accessing Kumar’s NTSA account after which she substituted the ownership of the vehicle to herself.

Documents at the Transport Authority demonstrated that Wairimu awarded ownership despite being no substantiating papers from the holder.

Kumar’s wife alleged that Wairimu had only been given the vehicle to ‘use and return’ by the deceased when they were in a relationship.

“The deceased’s wife authorised one of the relatives to make a report of any property owned by the deceased,” Trans Nzoia DCI officer Francis Kihara told the Nation.

Police officers searched Wairimu to Kitengela and dragged the vehicle to Buruburu Police Station taken it to Kitale Police Station.

“She originally made tries through lawyers to block us from pursuing the matter but failed. She came on Friday in an attempt to recover the vehicle but we arrested her instead,” Kihara added.

Upon her arrest, Wairimu noted that the vehicle had been disseminated to her without her understanding.

She will continue to be in Police custody until Monday, July 5, when she will be prosecuted in court.
