Why the Karen DCI officer Anne Wanjiru Waiganjo collapsed and died at a farewell

Karen DCI officer Anne Wanjiru Waiganjo dies after collapsing at a restaurant in Upper Hill where she was visiting a colleague’s farewell bash.

According to the Police,  the DCI boss is said to have collapsed at around 5 pm on Saturday, July 3.

“Today 3rd July 2021 at around 1739hrs duty officer Capitol Hill received a report from SCCIO Langata, Mr Abdirashid Yakub, that one No.235389 CI (w) Ann Wanjiru Waiganjo the Officer in charge DCI Karen suddenly collapsed while at Baita Restaurant within Upper Hill.,” the document read in part.

The OCPD was attending the good-bye party of a senior police officer, SSP Henry M. Kiambata was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

“She was whisked to Nairobi Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival,” the police report read.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Kenyatta University Mortuary.
