The Equity Bank of Kenya has issued an announcement to the media for an important release to the public dismissing all the accusations made by deputy president William Ruto.
According to the bank manager they want to purify their name and not be affiliated with any form of deception. The bank stated that it has been in the public domain for the past two days after the DP William Ruto said that he just made a phone call and the bank granted a Ksh 15 Billion loan to an investor. But in contrast, the Bank has said they don't always issue loans via phone calls.
They however continued watchful adding that they will help in any form of inquiry that the authorities will need and which may jeopardise the security of the nation.
"We would like to categorically state that Equity Bank or any other registered financial institution worth its name, does not issue loans via phone calls. It is in the public domain that Kshs 15 Billion is such a high figure that we can not only issue it by phone but the collateral required for such an advance would be so intense that this bank would complete a very rigorous process of background checks and value investigations. There is no chance any such transaction would have been made by an individual least of all a foreigner," they said.
"We however remain willing to assist investigative authorities to get to the bottom of any matter that may compromise national security and the integrity of our financial systems especially where we have been wrongfully mentioned," they added.
