Kibra resident arraigned in court following accusations that he slapped and injured her next-door neighbour, who purportedly told him to lower his music volume.
Fredrick Ochieng’ battered Doreen Tum wilfully and unwillingly on September 18, at a residential place in Fort Jesus within Kibra Sub-County.
Before the assault, Doreen was in her room when she chose to go out since she was getting irritated by the loud music being played by her neighbour.
While outside, she decided to talk to the neighbour that the noise was getting uncomfortable to her and requested him to turn the volume a bit lower.
However, that did not go well with the accused. He began abusing her claiming that she was a stupid woman.
Doreen seemed degraded and went inside her house, but the man blocked her, punched her hard on the cheek before proceeding with several slaps.
Once the accused left the premises, Doreen went on to report the said matter to the area chief before heading to the Police. Later, she was directed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Fredrick was arrested but he refuted the allegations in court and was released on a cash bail of Ksh20,000 pending mention on December 2.
