Ralf Rangnick finalises a deal at Manchester United photo

Ralf Rangnick finalises a deal at Old Trafford to become Manchester United interim manager until the end of the season.

Discussions already kicked off over a deal that would also see Rangnick remain at the club for two years past the end of the season in a consultancy role.

Rangnick, 63, is one of the most honoured heroes in German football and is currently the manager of sports and development for Lokomotiv Moscow.

Michael Carrick will continue to be in charge for Sunday's Premier League game at Chelsea.

Carrick is temporarily in charge while United conduct an intensive process to appoint an interim boss.  The move comes following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week.

Manchester United are set to appoint the Lokomotiv Moscow man as interim manager until the end of the season 2021/2022.
