Full letter of Changamwe Police officer who committed suicide over Sh 81,000 debt revealed

A police officer in Mombasa has committed suicide due to stress and debts amounting to Sh81,000 which he was unable to pay. 

The unidentified officer left a suicide note asking his colleagues to form a WhatsApp group and raise money after his death and help him pay his debts.

Changamwe Police Station police officer, Mombasa shoots himself after writing a letter to the Officer Commanding Station (OCS).

The officer asked his boss to treat his suicide as a natural death noting that he no longer desired to live.

“Kwanza kabisa natoa shukrani zangu kwa ule mda tumefanya kazi pamoja. Yangu nikuwaambia mimi naona muda wangu wa kuuishi duniani umefika mwisho, sina any other reason, just take it as a natural death and take me home sir,” the note read in part.

The Police constable told coworkers to send some money to a fellow officer recognised as sergeant Maina if contributions towards his funeral expenses are made.

“Pili naomba kama mtaform a WhatsApp group ya mchango please out of that contribution, please submit Ksh24,000 to Sgt Maina,” the note further stated.
