A court hammer

The High Court issues a conservatory ruling suspending the government’s order to bar unvaccinated Kenyans from getting services from December 21.

In a brief ruling, Justice Antony Mrima gave the conservatory order from a concern by businessman Enock Aura through lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui.

The ruling by the court comes after Aura lawsuit filed under a certificate of urgency seeking to halt the state directive made on November 22, which compelled to lock out unvaccinated Kenyans from accessing in-person state services.

In his proposal, Kinyanjui said that unless Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe’s directive is examined, thousands of tax-paying Kenyans will be blocked from getting government services which they have been funding without equal benefit.

The order will continue to be in force pending the hearing and judgment of the petition by the businessman.
