Sigowet Soin MP Benard Koros photo while injured

Sigowet Soin MP Benard Koros wounded in the eye after being attacked by his colleagues in Parliament. He was spotted bleeding from his right-hand cheek.

Koros, who is associated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, was seen wiping off blood using his handkerchief.

He alleged that he had been assaulted by a fellow lawmaker in the August House.

"Mr Speaker, I have been attacked in this house by the master of violence, now I can't see, I can't vote. We cannot accept to be injured in a national house. This cannot happen here!"

Members of Parliament had reconvened for a special sitting to evaluate the contentious Political Parties (Amendment) Bill 2021 and later vote.

This is the second special sitting called by Speaker Justin Muturi to contemplate the Bill was supported by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The two executives are counting on the Bill, which among other things recommends the formation of a coalition political party, to form a coalition that Mr Odinga will use for his 2022 presidential bid.

Presently, the House is in a division as members physically vote on a proposed amendment by Tigania West MP John Mutunga.

The lawmaker is striving to revise clause three of the Bill to allow political parties to use their prominent colours after the symbol.
