Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa resigns noting regular arrests and just after being arraigned in court with corruption.

In a short letter to National Executive Committee members, Mwendwa noted that he had asked his deputy, Doris Petra to assume the office of FKF Presidency.


The letter comes after being arraigned over graft charges and misuse of office. He was arrested twice over the same issue.

Mwendwa was also blocked from accessing FKF offices for the second time after being charged with conspiracy to defraud Sh38 million.

His miseries deepened after being struck with an Sh10 million cash bail to acquire his release after four days in police custody or a bond of Sh15 million with two sureties.

“He is forbidden from accessing Football Kenya Federation offices, contacting or interfering with any of the witnesses and depositing his passport in court as a condition for his release,” ruled  Milimani Anti-corruption court chief magistrate Eunice Nyutu.
