But after seven weeks on the seats watching, James is back in the first team ahead of the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Talking ahead after the weekend win against Crystal Palace, boss Tuchel said; “He is in personal training, advancing a lot, doing almost everything you can do in individual training, we are eagerly waiting for him."
The Blues met Lille in the Champions League and thrashed 2:0 as they head to the cup final.
Jurgen Klopp will be evaluating his Liverpool squad in a challenging week in which they face Leeds on Wednesday before the final.
And the Reds could be without superstar Diogo Jota - whose double against Arsenal in the semi-final fired Liverpool to Wembley.
Jota, however, is recovering from an ankle ligament injury as he sprints to be fit for the final.
