The First international cup to go in this year plays on Sunday. Chelsea VS Liverpool EFL Carabao cup final match takes place in a London national stadium.
The Reds are on the verge of setting a new record, having lifted the League Cup eight times since the competition’s formation. Liverpool won the trophy four times in a row between 1981 and 1984.
The Carabao Cup 2022 Final marks almost a decade for Liverpool last won the tournament in 2012, with the captain Jordan Henderson – aged just 21 at the time.
Liverpool captain remains the only player from the League Cup-winning side, featuring in the Final against Cardiff City.
The Blues have triumphed in the tournament more lately; the Blues ran out 2-0 winners over cross-city rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the 2015 Final.
In 2005, the two teams played for the cup at the Millennium Stadium in the Carabao Final, and Chelsea came out victorious, beating Liverpool 3-2.
Tuchel’s men have finished the set with their Club World Cup victory just a fortnight before the Carabao Cup Final.
Both teams are not strangers to the Final, with the 2022 showdown being the 13th League Cup Final the Reds have contested. The Blues, who have won on five occasions, have been involved in eight League Cup Finals.
