Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Liverpool to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon, facing a hard task to halt a four-game Premier League losing skid.

The Seagulls were defeated 2-1 by Newcastle United last time out, while Jurgen Klopp's team qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek.

Strangely, Brighton and Liverpool are meeting at noon nearly two years after Klopp's passionate speech at the Amex about noon games following his side's European exploits, but the Seagulls are not in the greatest of form.

After a poor run of games, Graham Potter's team lost their hold on a top-half berth and were unable to halt the Newcastle United juggernaut at St James' Park, with Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schar scoring before Lewis Dunk's consolation in a 2-1 defeat.

The Seagulls did break a three-game run without a Premier League goal, but a fourth straight defeat in the top-level puts them in 13th place in the table, one of three teams with 33 points heading into the weekend's matches.

Following the Saints' midweek loss to Newcastle United, the two-point deficit to 10th-placed Southampton is by no means insurmountable, but Potter's team has lost their magic touch in recent weeks, conceding at least two goals in each of their four recent defeats.

Since the start of October 2021, Brighton has only won one of their past ten Premier League games at the Amex, gaining only two points from the last 12 available at home.

Brighton has scored 10 goals at home this season, and the Reds are eager to destroy them.
