how to deregister from political party in kenya online on ecitizen free and easily

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) makes a bold move by integrating itself on Citizen platform.

People have been registered in different political parties without themselves being aware of the registration.

The Election Law in Kenya proposes that only party members would be allowed to participate in the party primaries.

ORPP had received various complaints from citizens to have been enrolled by political parties that they never subscribed to.

However, should a citizen find himself/herself registered as a Member of a Political Party that the individual didn’t apply for, follow the procedure below and ORPP will remove all the details:

  • Write a letter of resignation, with your details to the party.
  • Attach a copy of ID to the letter.
  • Send a copy of your letter and ID to our office, or scan and forward to info@orpp.or.ke

However, before sending the letter to the ORPP, note that all resignation letters MUST be sent to a political party that recruited you.

ORPP only collects copies of the same through hand deliver, or scanned papers to the e-mail above.

Joining another party is an individual option. Simply contact the party you would like to join.

ORPP does not register members on behalf of parties. If you would like to contact a party, ORPP has created a list of contacts.

To register for membership in any political party, visit their offices or their website.
