After a botched assassination attempt in Tudor, a Mombasa politician is struggling for his life at the Agakhan hospital.

Ali Mwatsau's automobile was showered with more than 15 bullets, and he is said to have narrowly missed death after being transported to the hospital by a Tuk Tuk driver.

Washington Njiru, the director of criminal investigations for the Coast Region, stated that police had yet to determine the gunmen's motivation, but investigations had commenced.

Mwatsau is a UDA-affiliated Mvita MP candidate.

A manhunt for the unknown number of gunmen being transported in two cars is still on, according to Njiru, and investigators are gathering further information to help them track down the suspects.

"Area of crime police have already been dispatched to the scene, and the victim has been transported to the hospital while the investigation continues," he added.

The incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the police report.

The gunman rushed away following the event, according to the report.

"The victim received gunshot wounds to his arms and legs during the shooting event and is awaiting treatment," according to the report.

At the time of the event, he was travelling from a mosque to his home.
