 After her husband, musician Bahati stood down from the Mathare parliamentary election, Diana Marua sent him some reassuring message.



Diana consoled Bahati on social media, encouraging him to focus on the positives ahead for the benefit of himself and the people of Mathare.



"There is a silver lining to every black cloud. It'll be difficult, but we'll get through it. @BahatiKenya Remain focused on the glory that awaits you and the Mathare people," Marua wrote.

Bahati, who had been given a Jubilee ticket, was requested to resign on Monday, April 25 in favour of sitting ODM MP Anthony Oluoch in the Mathare parliamentary contest.




Bahati is seen pleading with President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga in a video circulating online.



"I am pleading with my President Uhuru Kenyatta and Baba Raila Odinga to offer a youth an opportunity to run for office."

"I understand Mathare has been designated as an ODM zone, but please give a young person from this nation an opportunity," Bahati is heard imploring.



"I already had one," says the narrator. "These Mathare residents want someone who knows their difficulties and is from the area," he continued.
