Kithure Kindiki and Kipchumba Murkomen conflicts

Kithure Kindiki, a Tharaka-Nithi senator, seems to be gradually gaining confidence and stepping out of his cocoon, with confessions and statements spilling forth.

Earlier this week, Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen contended that majority of votes in opinion polls wasn't the only factor in selecting a running mate during the United Democratic Alliance party nomination, and that even if it was, Kithure Kindiki wasn't the best candidate but besides being ahead of Rigathi Gachagua.

He went on to say that the governor of Kirinyaga, Anne Waiguru, was actually in charge.

Kithure Kindiki, therefore, said yesterday while in a talk on Citizen TV's Newsnight, conducted by the station's anchor Waihiga Mwaura, that he led on all political frontiers.

He revealed that there were two polls conducted: a citizen vote and an electoral college vote among authorized UDA members. He went on to say that he was the strongest at each.

Kindiki had declared the day before at a news appearance in a Nairobi hotel that he would be resting while reflecting about his destiny and preparing for a reappearance.

"I've decided to take a break from electoral politics." I'll take a pause to reorganize myself in order to help my party win the president," he stated.

He also stated that he will not be ready for any position in Ruto's administration following the August elections.

"I will not be considering any kind of administration role." However, I will be willing to apply for any national positions that become available in the future."

Kindiki, on the other hand, asked his electors to vote for deputy president William Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua.

Kindiki stated that he is still with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

"It was about us as a team, not about me as a person."

He stated that he will maintain a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance because he anticipates they will form the next administration.
