Uganda motorbikes on loan. How much is a boda boda motorbike in Uganda? What is the cost of motorcycle in Uganda?

More than a hundred people, mostly Boda Boda motorcyclists in the West Nile subregion, are in disbelief after failing to receive the motorbikes for which they paid large deposits, and the officials of Sky Motors Limited, the company they paid, have gone and turned off their cellphones.

After purportedly receiving authorization from the divisional officials to offer motorbike and tricycle loan facilities, Sky Motors Limited opened an office in Manibe ward, Ayivu Division in Arua city in Uganda early last month.

Each potential rider was needed to submit an initial payment of between KSh 22,000 and Ksh130,000 Shillings for the motorcycle and tricycle, according to the company business rules.

Potential customers were then required to pay for a motorcycle or tricycle on a weekly or monthly basis, with those who could manage it paying cash.

During a "mega launch" on Sunday afternoon, the company pledged to supply motorbikes and tricycles to the registrants.

However, several of the concerned clients who had gone to clear their overdue preliminary deposits ahead of the launch were surprised to find no personnel in the office when they came to the company's office on Saturday.

The aggrieved clients raced to the neighbouring Manibe Police Station in astonishment after waiting in vain for the officials to come but were eventually directed to Arua central police station.
