The son of nominated MP David Sankok shot himself himself at his father's home in Narok on Monday afternoon, leaving the family in despair.

He is said to have killed himself using his father's rifle.

According to authorities and his family, Memusi Sankok was a Form 4 student at Maseno High School.

"The father was not at home when the youngster shot himself, and it's unknown how the weapon, which should have been properly guarded, came into his possession," a senior officer acquainted with the matter said.

"At the moment, he was 15 years old. He shot himself in the head at his father's residence. We don't know the motive," another officer said.

According to family sources, the youngster and his father have been at disagreements over his future plans.

According to CCIO Narok Mwenda Ithiaba, the kid had a violent altercation with his father after refusing to return to school. Last week, educational institutions reopened.

When the politician left the residence to speak to a crowd in Ewaso Nyiro, the young man grabbed his weapon and fired a shot.
