Death of William Kamoti. Rabai MP road accident at Mnarani, Kilifi. William Kamoti, the Rabai Member of Parliament.

William Kamoti, the Rabai Member of Parliament, has died.

On Sunday evening, Kamoti perished in a car crash near Kilifi town on the Mombasa-Malindi highway at stage ya Maziwa.

Johnathan Koech, the police chief of Kilifi North Sub-County, confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries.

At the Kilifi county hospital, his driver is battling for his survival.

The accident took place around 9.30 p.m., as per onlookers.

While attempting to pass a lorry headed towards Mombasa, Kamoti's automobile overturned.

Witness Eric Nyamawi said Kamoti's car was attempting to overtake a lorry when it collided with it, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times.

"I saw the vehicle rolling. When we reached where it landed, we saw two people one of them was thrown out while his legs remained in the car.

" The driver was in his seat. We rescued them but unfortunately, the MP died before we got assistance to take him to the hospital," Nyamawi said.

Kamoti is now completing his second term in office. The IEBC authorized him to run for Rabai MP for the third time on Sunday.

In 2017, he was reelected on an ODM ticket.
