Safaricom USSD CODE blocking SIM swap for Safaricom, Telkom, airtel lines in Kenya

Unauthorized SIM swaps have been more common these days, resulting in numerous Safaricom subscribers losing millions of shillings to scammers.

Con artists have started registering Safaricom phone numbers on other SIM cards, allowing them to access their victims' notifications, passwords, and banking profiles.

To avoid this, the telecommunications behemoth has launched a USSD code that users can use to whitelist their mobile phone numbers.

The USSD code, *100*100#OK, locks the subscribers' number so that no one else can replace anything without their approval from any dealer store.

This means that they can only replace their SIM card in person, with their national identification card, or by calling the company's customer service line.
