Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula being prayed to deliver 70% of Western to UDA

Nithi Tharaka Senator Kithure Kindiki has disclosed that in an arrangement with Deputy President William Ruto, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya colleague Moses Wetang'ula have a 70% vote projection from the 2.2 million Western ballot pool.

Prof Kindiki, who was one of the draftsman and caretakers of the Kenya Kwanza coalition agreement, said Mr Mudavadi and Mr Wetang'ula agreed to deliver votes from the Western region in order for them to be elected Prime Cabinet Secretary and Speaker of the National Assembly, accordingly.

"Ford Kenya and the African National Congress (ANC) can be allocated government obligations to a specific percentage if they reach a particular threshold of votes where we have large followings based on opinion polls and past elections," he said.

"It is right that the couple must receive 70% of the votes cast in Western. If they were dissatisfied with that demand, they wouldn't even have signed."

The goal has been brushed off by critics of the Kenya Kwanza pact, particularly those in Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition, who claim that Mr Mudavadi and Mr Wetang'ula could not meet the demand.

If the DP Ruto-led team beats the August battle, Mudavadi and Wetangula are also set to receive 30% of the administration cabinet slots.

"The Political Parties Act mandates the party to provide not only the government structure, but also the conditions that will dictate responsibility allocation in the next administration," Kindiki said on Citizen TV's NewsNight broadcast on Tuesday.

"For Ford Kenya and the African National Congress, it was decided that if we reach a specific level of votes from areas where they have a large following based on opinion polls and previous elections, they can be given government responsibilities up to a certain proportion."

Kindiki went on to say that the same laws will apply to Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) leader Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, who is running for Senate Speaker in DP Ruto's administration.

Kindiki further disclosed that the Kenya Kwanza coalition agreement clearly specifies out the responsibilities of DP Ruto's running mate, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, while noting that the document is a mixture of the beliefs of UDA, Ford Kenya, and ANC.

"If an office is established to maintain the smooth operation of government,
