David Mwaure, the presidential candidate for the Agano Party demands more security from Police boss

David Mwaure, the presidential candidate for the Agano Party, has written to Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to ask for more security for his campaign.

Mwaure and his campaign companion, Ruth Mucheru, wrote to the National Police Service, requesting that their protection be strengthened "because of their plan to combat corruption."

The couple wondered why other candidates didn't get armed protection, police cars, escort cars, or helicopters, and if the security was paid for by taxpayers.

Bruno Shioso, a police spokesman, says that each of the four candidates for president has at least 10 armed police officers to protect them before the elections in August.

The team will be led by an inspector who will be expected to constantly communicate with commanders of every location they will be visiting for safety purposes.
