Nairobi police praise waitress for safeguarding consumer from "dangerous" people

The message that the waitress scrawled to alert a male client who was enjoying his time with dubious strangers.

A city waitress who alerted a partygoer about the company he was keeping has been praised by the National Police Service (NPS). 


The waitress allegedly wrote a note on a piece of paper and secretly delivered it to a male patron who was having fun with strangers at the social club where she works in Nairobi's Madaraka Estate.

She had cautioned him in the note that she didn't trust the acquaintances he was keeping. The message that the waitress scrawled to alert a male client who was enjoying his time with dubious strangers.


"We all go out to restaurants, bars, and other gathering places for a meal, a drink, or just to unwind and have fun. We engage with relatives, friends, acquaintances, and total strangers in this mix.


And even if we let down our guard during these meetings and feel at ease, the truth is that we are most susceptible to outsiders. This is the time when attentive and considerate service employees, especially waiters and security guards, matters, according to the NPS.


According to NPS, unappreciated personnel are more knowledgeable than partygoers. They notice peculiar actions that, when reported in due course, can protect both life and property.


The client allegedly paid attention to the warning and exited the club to safety.
