Romelu Lukaku leaves Chelsea back to Inter Milan on a loan deal photo

Italy says that Chelsea and Inter Milan have agreed to loan Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian appears set to end his disheartening return to Chelsea and revert back to where he had his best spell a year later.

Lukaku signed for a club-record £97.5 million last summer but hasn't lived up to his expectations.

Inter Milan have made a second offer for Lukaku and hope to sign him this weekend.

This matches Chelsea's summertime loan value.

Chelsea declined a €5 million loan proposal last month, asking more.

The Serie A club has suggested a €7 million loan fee, including add-ons, to bring Lukaku back to the San Siro, closer to the €10 million Todd Boehly is seeking this summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the clubs have agreed.

Steven Zhang has reportedly agreed to a loan deal for £6 million plus £1.7 million in incentives.

Zhang was earlier turned off by Chelsea's demands, so this is good news.

According to sources, Todd Boehly's response is 'anticipated today or tomorrow'

Inter is'making a huge effort' to get back its former hero.

Lukaku has 'never been so close' to returning to the San Siro.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Chelsea's loan fee requests had earlier stalled the deal.

Lukaku feared the trade may fall through.

Anxiousness turned to excitement as the forward realized in Milan that the white smoke was approaching.

A deal might be revealed this weekend, ending Lukaku's miserable stay in London at least for another season.

Chelsea will concentrate on adding reinforcements before the new season, while West Ham is interested in Armando Broja.

The Blues have been active this summer in terms of outgoings as they attempt to rebuild their team and fight for the Premier League title.
