Leonard Mambo Mbotela, a seasoned media figure, has been sworn in as a National Heroes Council member.

On Monday, Chief Justice Martha Koome presided over the ceremony at the Supreme Court when the renowned broadcaster was sworn in.

The 82-year-old was chosen for the council on August 5 by Amina Mohammed, the departing CS for Sports and Culture. He is anticipated to serve in the position for three years.

Identification, selection, and recognition of national heroes are tasks assigned to the National Heroes Council.

The mission, in CJ Kooome's opinion, is crucial since our nation's history is mostly a tale of the contributions made by our heroes to the creation of the country.
