Miguna Miguna passport handed back ready to travel back to Kenya

Miguna Miguna, a controversial lawyer, got his Kenyan passport almost five years after he was sent away by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta government.

He wrote about this on Twitter, saying that President William Ruto, who had promised to help him get back, had made it possible.

He claims that notwithstanding several efforts, his return has been prevented by red warnings issued by the government, and that he is still waiting for them to be lifted.

"President @WilliamsRuto has had a replacement passport sent to me 1687 days after Uhuru Kenyatta, @RailaOdinga, Fred Matiang'i, @Karanjakibicho, and @GKihalangwa They planned to unlawfully seize and destroy my Kenyan passport. Miguna said on Twitter, "Waiting for the LIFTING of Red Alerts."

He says he wasn't forced to sign any papers, which he would have had to do in order to get the travel document.

I was not required to sign the ridiculous documents they were referring to.
This comes after his audacious claim that Ruto would make sure he was permitted to enter the nation again.

Following his participation in the informal swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga as "the people's president" back in 2018, Miguna Miguna, who is also a citizen of Canada, was deported there.

In April of this year, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i said Miguna needed to complete a one-page form in order to re-register for Kenyan citizenship. He said this during a media interview.

Matiang'i said, "According to the new constitution, the lawyer could only arrange his return journey in that manner.

"In order to get your Kenyan passport or citizenship back, you must fill out a piece of paper. In this case, the court issued a ruling that spelled out exactly how to recover your citizenship.

" Also, the high court has made decisions about how to get citizenship back after having it taken away under the old constitution, which made it illegal to have more than one citizenship."
