Eliud Kipchoge ISUZU car model revealed

Isuzu East Africa has made a new D-Max pickup in honour of Eliud Kipchoge, who holds the world record for marathons.

At an event on Tuesday at the Isuzu East Africa offices in Nairobi, the company released a limited edition Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 D-Max.

This was done to honour Kipchoge's sub-two-hour marathon time of 1:59:40, which he ran at the INEOS challenge in 2019.

Rita Kavashe, who is the managing director of Isuzu East Africa, said that the new model is a tribute to Kipchoge's achievements. Kipchoge just broke the world record by 30 seconds, and the new model is meant to honour that.

"We're going to make an Eliud Kipchoge D-max pick-up together at a scale of 1:59, and the first one will be Eliud's car because we want to honour him.  As a country, we must recognize the value of sports in terms of economic development, health and well-being, and inspire young people to participate in sports, "  Kavashe stated.

Kipchoge praised Isuzu for how long they have been friends, but he also said that he still hopes to do better in his marathon career.

"Isuzu and I have had long-standing cooperation, and for them to introduce this new model is an encouragement to the younger population, as well as for corporations to acknowledge and reward them."

According to Kipchoge, "breaking the world record is pushing the boundaries and is one means of expanding my career."
