The rehearsals for this year's Mashujaa Day events are going as planned at Nairobi's Uhuru Gardens.

The Interior Principle Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, who is also the head of the national celebration committee, told the media after touring the gardens that they expect more than 20,000 people to come to the feast.

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho said, "As the National Celebrations Committee, we have reserved no time in preparing for this year's Mashujaa Day Celebrations on Thursday."

Mashujaa Day will be the first officially recognized holiday under President William Ruto's leadership.

There will be more than 20,000 Kenyans there, including guests.

Kibicho said that a statement on the preparedness would be given on Wednesday by the Nairobi Regional Commander.

" This year's Mashujaa Day theme focuses on agriculture as it was used by our forefathers. We are celebrating our heroes as well as revamping our agricultural produce, " he said.
