MP Peter Salasya meets Lydia Ronad

A member of parliament from Mumias, Peter Salasya, has met the woman whose public proposal to him went viral on social media.

Lydia Ronad is seen in a video that went viral online last week walking down Tom Mboya Street with a handwritten sign saying she loves the MP and begging him to propose to her.

Salasya replied to the woman's tweet by inviting her to lunch after he had turned her down before.

"I promised to invite her to lunch when I spoke to Kenyans, and we just had lunch with her. She is a girl of great courage, "Salasya made the statement in a video that showed the two having lunch in the Parliament cafeteria.

In addition, Salasya pledged to help the lady in her endeavours and said he thought she would look into a career in politics in the future.

"As I had told Kenyans, Vaida eventually showed up for lunch in the Parliament building. Lydia will succeed my buddy and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro as the next female representative for Kisii County. Her charm and bravery will propel her forward," said the MP.

"I'll help her live out her dreams," he said.
