The nominee for lands, physical planning, and urbanization on the Nyandarua County Executive Committee (CECM), John Ndung'u Muiru, is the winner of this year's SportPesa midweek Jackpot.
On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Muiru was announced as the fifth individual to win the jackpot after taking home Ksh38,792,902.
On Saturday, October 29, 2022, he showed up at the Sportpesa headquarters. He had previously attended an hour of vetting in the Nyandarua County Assembly.
After hearing the good news, Muiru went to the Sportpesa headquarters and said that God was the main reason for his success.
"God alone is responsible for the fact that I haven't had a job since being laid off when COVID hit. Since then, life has been difficult, but now I am really pleased. Good things have been occurring in my life for the last two weeks, and it seems like a dream, "he said.
When asked how he intended to use the money, Muiru responded that he intended to donate some of it to a worthy cause by helping to fund the studies of a seminary student. Muiru also mentioned that he was currently keeping an eye on the SportPesa Mega jackpot, which is currently standing at Ksh258,230,739.
