Ngirici asked for Governor Anne Waiguru's narrow victory on August 9, 2022, when she got 113,088 to her 105,677 votes, to be overturned

Wangui Ngirici, the contested Kirinyaga governor candidate in a legal battle with Anne Waiguru over the results of the August 9 election, is now said to be in line for a PS or CAS position in Ruto's administration as a reward for her recent decision to drop the case.

Ngirici asked for Governor Anne Waiguru's narrow victory on August 9, 2022, when she got 113,088 to her 105,677 votes, to be overturned.

She did this by saying that there was fraud and violence during and after the election.

Ngirici then changed her mind. Last week, she told her lawyer to try to get her election petition thrown out. She said the decision came after "extensive talks" with the Kenya Kwanza leadership.

Ngirici said that, Governor Waiguru will do her job "without interruptions" if the petition dismissed.

Sources say that Ngirici has a good chance of winning the incoming position as the public service commission has just finished a public engagement activity and is announcing the positions.

CAS was launched by the former president Uhuru Kenyatta in his second term and were primarily intended to reward poll losers.

However, this time around, interviews will be conducted to the prospective individuals.

Given that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that "dandies" in the Kenya Kwanza government would be honoured after the coalition's architects got their cut of the cake, the primary beneficiaries of the CAS job will also be important Ruto friends.
