Sylvanus Osoro, an MP from South Mugirango, has been asked to visit Kamba territory in exchange for a "Muthokoi" meal and a goat by women from Kamba community. This is because he helped save Peninah Malonza when he was the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage in Parliament.
As happy women in Kitengela got together to celebrate Malonza's promotion to CS, Osoro was praised for his great argument.
During the debate in the legislature, Osoro convinced many people that Malonza should be allowed by making a strong case for it.
He also set tongues spinning when he said that Malonza's poor performance during the screening process may have been caused by the fact that she was having her monthly period at the time.
The women, led by Magret Matee, Chairlady of the Kajiado East Kamba Ladies, were angry and embarrassed when they found out that only one person had failed the screening by the parliamentary committee.
They said that the decision to remove Malonza from her post was an embarrassment to women and gave the impression that women lacked competence.
"We genuinely appreciate Osoro for being a female warrior. His actions showed that he understood the problems women face. This was clear to anyone who watched or listened.
"As Kamba women, we honour him and invite him to the Kamba region for our preferred traditional supper (Muthokoi). We'll give him a goat as well as others. Matee said, "He has gained a place in women's hearts."
Matee told women to work together to help each other instead of seeing each other as competitors.
"Women leaders need to cease standing in the way of other women's achievements." The phrase "a woman's adversary is another woman" has to be dropped.
She said, "Women should avoid needless rivalry and accept one another's accomplishments."
They also told women who were elected to office or made ministers to show how smart they were and do well at the jobs they were given.
"The Ruto administration has opened up cabinet positions to women. In terms of the achievement of growth, those women must bear the weight of evidence.
"Women have an obligation to disprove the critics of female leadership. I urge Malonza and others to work hard instead of going to sleep in order to get respect and success," Slyvia Ndunge, another lady, said.
The women asked President William Ruto to give women more power and give them more ways to serve.
Malonza is one of the six female Cabinet members who took the oath of office today to work for President Ruto's administration.
