With a win against Leeds United this weekend, Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur team will want to complete their season before the World Cup on a positive note.

Conte hasn't had the best of times recently, with subpar displays and underwhelming outcomes. Much the same as Spurs' loss to Liverpool last weekend, a stronger second half wasn't enough to make up for a terrible first half of play.

Despite Harry Kane's 11th goal of an already stellar Premier League season, which came with Spurs trailing by two goals at the half, the North London team eventually lost.

Tottenham suffered their third Premier League defeat in as many games after previous losses to Manchester United and Newcastle United. Additionally, Sunday's loss was Conte's team's third straight loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following his goal against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane joins Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in celebration.

As Leeds will be visiting the city this weekend, Spurs will be eager to conclude the Premier League season on a good note with only one game remaining before the World Cup stops play.

Tottenham has always been better than Leeds, and despite their recent struggles, they have won five of the last six league games against the Yorkshire team.

Granted, Spurs have won three of their past four games since Leeds were re-promoted to the Premier League in 2020–21, but that streak dates back to Leeds' last season in the top division.

It's worth noting that this encounter will take place one weekend shy of the one-year mark since Spurs last hosted Leeds. Three points were won on that particular day thanks to a Sergio Reguilon goal after the hosts had gone down 1-0 to a Daniel James goal in the first half.

Both of these players have left their teams, and there have been a lot of changes at Leeds since last season.

Leeds had a difficult start to the season under Jesse Marsch's leadership, but back-to-back wins against Bournemouth and Liverpool have propelled them to the top of the standings.

Leeds will not be a walkover for the struggling Spurs on Saturday, even if they are set to begin the game as underdogs. Both teams are aiming for a win before the World Cup break.

The merciless Spurs team, on the other hand, will come out fighting and capture three points during Saturday's match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, their first home loss since February 2001.
