Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has said that the murder case against Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa should be dropped.

The decision to end the lawsuit was told to Judge Ann Onginjo of the Mombasa High Court during a virtual mention of the matter on Wednesday morning.

The DPP's decision to make Ms. Jumwa a state witness was announced to the court by State Attorney Vivian Kambaga.

But Justice Onginjo wasn't happy with how the court was told that the case was going to be dropped.

In order for the DPP to produce the official letter outlining their determination and updating the charge sheet, the judge was compelled to schedule a new date for the matter to be mentioned.

On December 21, when the DPP will deliver a letter to the court outlining his decision to withdraw the case, Ms. Jumwa must physically appear in court.

In 2019, she was accused of killing ODM supporter Jola Ngumbao.

She was accompanied on the charge by her assistant, Geoffrey Otieno Okuto, who is now left to bear his own cross.

According to reports, the two and their followers broke into Reuben Katana's house, where an ODM strategy meeting was taking place, and murdered Mr. Ngumbao Jola.
