Oburu Odinga, a senator for Siaya, undergoes medication in India after having complicated knee surgery.
On Saturday, the Senator, who is also the brother of Raila Odinga, the head of the ODM, had surgery.
In an interview with the Indian news station TV5, the senator said that he is doing quite well.
"Since I've been here, I've been given the finest treatment. I have previously had medical care at a hospital in Kenya, but I have found that the care I get in India is not only effective but also quite affordable."
The senator went on to say that many Kenyans, including himself, choose to get therapy in India because it is less expensive there.
"Not because Kenya was unable to heal my knee.""The reason for this is that if I could have had treatment for my knee in Kenya, it would have probably set me back three times as much as it did in India," he stated.
The senator is feeling optimistic about his road to recovery now that he realizes he is heading in the right direction.
He said that he is looking forward to getting back to his favorite sport as soon as he can.
"I feel amazing. I am a golfer. It is my sincere desire that, when I go back to Kenya, I will pick up where I left off on the golf course and begin kicking the ball once again."
