Croatia vs Morocco 3rd place match live on KBC

The third-place playoff between Croatia and Morocco is one of the last two games of the 2022 World Cup.

The game will take place on December 17 at Qatar's Khalifa International Stadium. For the second straight World Cup, Croatia is going for third place, while Morocco is taking part in this match for the first time.

Croatia enters the game coming off of a 3-0 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semifinal. Croatia's chances of making the final were ended when they gave up a penalty in the 34th minute, setting them behind, and then they let up another goal in the next five minutes.

After the break, Croatia did not produce the scoring opportunities they needed, and Argentina scored a third goal in the 69th minute to increase their lead.

With such an outcome, Croatia suffered their first loss in 12 games and their first defeat at the 2022 World Cup.

But Croatia has had a hard time winning games in this tournament. Their only full-game victory came when they beat Canada 4-1 in their last group match.

Morocco, Belgium, Japan, and Brazil all managed to hold Croatia, although the Japanese and Brazilians were defeated on penalties.

Apart from the group matchup with Canada, Croatia has had trouble finding the back of the net. They have lost three of their six World Cup games without scoring a goal.

Morocco suffered its first World Cup defeat in 2022, losing 2-0 to France in the semifinals. After barely five minutes, the French took the lead, which put Morocco in a difficult position.

They persisted in the second half and attempted to generate scoring opportunities, but it was not their night. Any prospects of an African side reaching the World Cup final were dashed when France scored their second goal in the 79th minute.

Morocco has won all six of its 2022 World Cup games. In 42 of their most recent 43 games across all competitions, Morocco has not lost.

Morocco has played superb defence in the 2022 World Cup, keeping a clean sheet in 4 of their 6 games. In their past three games, less than 2.5 goals were scored each time.

Everyone from Croatia should be present for this game, according to team news. We may not see Luka Modri again at the World Cup.

All three of Morocco's injured players, Noussair Mazraoui, Romain Sass, and Nayef Aguerd, are not expected to play in the game.
