Since the rapper did not show up to perform at the Mombasa event as planned, the leadership teams for Stivo Simple Boy and Eric Omondi have been going back and forth with allegations.
On December 28, 2022, the performance of Stivo and Ruger, a musician from Nigeria, was scheduled to take place at the Sofire Fiesta event.
However, Stivo didn't perform. His management team at MIB claims that the organisers did not pay the rapper before he came on stage, which is why he did not perform.
After Stivo didn't do as well as expected, Eric went crazy on social media, yelling and ranting and saying that MIB's management had failed Stivo.
“Stivo Simple Boy Management must resign immediately or I’ll have them arrested. How do you bring an artist all the way from Nairobi na hata ajalipwa hata shillingi moja, kwani kazi yako kama manager ni nini. Alafu you only inform me of this at the backstage last minute. Loise, who is Stivo Simple Boy's talent manager, and Gift Nasimiyu, who is the rapper's financial manager, have both come out to say that the claims that the artist's management is to blame for what happened in Mombasa are false.
During an interview with 2mbiliTV, both Loise and Gift talked in detail about what had happened.
"Tulikua na events mbili hio ya SoFire and Stivo was also supposed to shoot a video with Dogo Skills. So what happened was when kina So Fire didn't confirm about Stivo's performance - by confirming I mean they had not sent any deposit or even the transport money, we decided to focus on hii ya kina Dogo Skills. The two ladies further said that they had to share a bed with Stivo as they were booked in the same room.

Walikua wametubukia room moja, kitanda moja Stivo, Loise na mimi coz the other manager anawork na wao so he wasn't involved. Gift further added that Eric wanted Stivo to perform yet he had not been paid.
"Eric goes ahead and say ohh management ya Stivo be arrested yet he called us akisema we should take the artiste to the venue aperform tu kwa sababu ati Ruger ameshafika ati we let the artiste perform. So Eric why would you say ati you are fighting for Kenyan artistes yet hadi tunakuambia Eric this artiste has not been paid he cannot go on stage. And munatuma watu muaanza kutudrag kwa corridor munavuta msanii aende kwa stage forcefully then you come and start playing cards here on social media." Gift said.
However, stivo boy said, It was Freshi Barida. Hata kama show sikupiga, ilikuwa experince nzuri as always ukiwa Mombasa. Wale wanawake wawili pia walifinya nitamani Mombasa."
