Most wanted 'Confirm' gang leader arrested in nakuru after public tip-off

An alleged "Confirm" gang boss has been taken into custody by police in Nakuru. A slew of killings in the city have been connected to the group.

Jackson Maruche, 23, also known as Rogers, was taken into custody on Wednesday night in the Bondeni neighbourhood of Nakuru City.

Peter Mwanzo, who is in charge of the Nakuru County Police, says that Maruche is the leader of the Watizedi gang, which is a branch of the Confirm gang that has been bothering people in Nakuru.

In Nakuru City's Bondeni and Flamingo estates, the Watizedi gang is active. 

 

The organisation is said to be responsible for a number of killings and crimes in the city.
 

"The culprit was apprehended on Wednesday night at Bondeni Estate while hanging out with others who eluded the police dragnet." 

 

In Nakuru City, Rogers has been connected to a number of killings as well as other crimes, including burglaries and phone robberies, according to Mr. Mwanzo.

The police have linked the suspect to the terrible death of a woman, whose headless body was found in a bag in the Rongai sub-county on December 9, 2022.

"The cops have been monitoring the group for many days. The group held a meeting on Wednesday, and police were informed. They were able to apprehend the suspect there, according to Mr. Mwanzo.

According to the police, they found a vehicle and the gang's rudimentary weaponry, including swords and pangas. The police are attempting to capture five additional alleged gang members.

He also said that the suspect was linked to Dickson Macharia Waithira, also known as Deco, who was arrested and charged in court in August of last year.

 

His arraignment is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Following the death of six women in Nakuru's Mawanga neighbourhood six months ago, a crackdown on members of the feared organisation has been stepped up.

A few months ago, police in Barut, Nakuru West, killed four alleged members of a killer gang.
