In connection with the current Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) exams, a police officer is being investigated after it was claimed that he was captured on video reportedly stealing at a school in Bomet county.
The police officer, who was a member of a group of policemen assigned to staff test centers in the county, is accused of robbing Kimulot High School in the Konoin constituency's female invigilators on Monday, December 5.
CCTV cameras set up in the room where the instructors stored their baggage following the test requirements captured the occurrence.
The armed cop can be seen entering the room and sitting adjacent to where the instructors had stored their personal belongings in the widely circulated video that was posted on social media.
He can be seen raiding the purses and taking what seems to be cash. He puts the things in his pockets and puts the purses back where they were before leaving.
After discovering that their money had vanished, the instructors complained to the school administration, which resulted in the removal of the room's CCTV video.
The officer will face an adequate penalty, according to the police, if proven guilty.
"We have sent county headquarters officers to the area to confirm the information that is now in the public domain."
According to a senior police official at the Bomet County headquarters, who was cited by Nation, "We are attempting to confirm whether or not the event happened in the school so that proper action may be taken."
