A police officer who allegedly shot and killed a Boda Boda rider on December 22nd night has committed suicide.
According to reports, police officer David Mugiri shot himself in the chin with the same revolver he used to murder Elvis Thoya, a Boda Boda driver.
On Friday, December 23, early in the morning, his corpse was found in a bush in the Kwa Chocha neighborhood close to the Malindi Airport.
The armed officer was picked up by the motorist during the event and taken from the town to the adjacent Malindi airport, where he was typically stationed.
The two got into a fight about the KSh50 fee, at which point the police pulled his gun and shot the rider three times in the head. He passed away instantly.
The cop was reported missing after the shooting until his corpse was found in the bush.
