Karanja Kibicho office

Raila Odinga's fifth attempt to win the presidency in August of this year was perhaps his greatest opportunity to do so, according to analysts.

During the Azimio presidential campaign, there were claims that the "system" was guiding an already powerful behemoth. However, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was leaving office at the time, backed Odinga.

What went wrong, then? With the support of the outgoing president, was Raila becoming overconfident? Or was he being used?

There are still a lot of questions about what really happened with the Odinga campaign, as it has become clear that there may have been major problems with the way institutions worked.

Kennedy Murithi, an NTV senior political affairs reporter, spoke with key figures in Azimio and investigated the reasons why Raila lost to William Ruto in August.

MP Babu Owino, Jeremiah Kioni, and Saitabao Ole Kanchory have all accepted that President William Ruto was or is a smart politician. The deep state couldn't steal or attempt to steal.

"I asked Kibicho to arrest Chebukati so that Cherera could declare Baba the president, but Kibicho refused. That's when I knew the system," Babu Owino said.

MP Babu Owino said, "I called Kibicho and told him we needed to act fast, arrest Chebukati "for bungling elections," and let Cherera announce Baba as the winner."
